Spring is the time for new beginnings. Plants return to bloom, baby animals frolic in the fields. The ants return to my kitchen (but that's another story). And it seems that everyone I know is either newly pregnant or pushing out a kid. I'm not kidding. You'd think that since I am in my late 30s (yes I know, I look much younger, you'd never have guessed) and my social circle is mostly in that same age range, we'd be slowing down on the procreation. But you'd be wrong.
It's kind of exciting for all of these new little people to be joining our lives. Some of them younger siblings, some of them first-born, all of them so anxiously awaited by their families. I am personally excited to be able to get a little bit of that new baby smell from the nearby babies.
What I'm wondering is if this is just my group of friends or if this is some kind of trend. Are we in some kind of national baby boom or is it more confined to my friends? Maybe it is even some kind of trend linked directly to me, maybe just knowing me makes you more fertile? It could happen.

I seem to be exposed to a lot more babiness lately, too. It does sort of seem like a mini-boom or something. I hadn't really put it together until you mentioned it. I do SO much like other people's babies.
