Art appreciation

Tonight we ate dinner at a local Italian restaurant.  The service was slow but the food was good, so we'll forgive them.  The did manage to feed the boys first, so after they'd devoured their dinner our meals hit the table.  As we ate, Big Dog spotted a picture he wanted to look at on the wall.
"Hold on a second.  I want to look at something," and he walked from the table to the framed print of Botticelli's "Birth of Venus".  He stared for a bit, then shook his head and walked back to the table.
"A naked girl," he said, mildly bemused.
"It's a print of a painting called "The Birth of Venus" by a painter called Botticelli," I told him.
So he and Little Dog walked back to the picture and took another long look.  After thorough inspection he walked back to the table.
"She's covering her private parts with her hand," he said and looked again. "And her hair."
The look on his face let me know he had a hard time considering this art, and didn't understand why I'd be ok with pictures of nude women on the walls where we ate.  He'll understand later.  Or at least I hope he will.  Until then he can carry on being amused.
