Every night as I put dinner in front of my family, Mr. Dog says "Oh, thank you sugar!" and I say "You're welcome, sweetheart." It's our little routine, second nature, we don't even think about it when we do it.
When I give the boys dinner, they say "Thanks mama," and I reply "You're welcome, baby." But last night I didn't say it quickly enough for Little Dog. I was distracted and I paused too long before I said my bit. So he tried again, this time he says "Oh thank you, sugar!"
Caught completely off guard, I started to laugh. So did Mr. Dog. And because I was laughing and he is a tiny ham, Little Dog then said "You're welcome, sweetheart!"
Is it any surprise I love these kids they way I do?

RIDICULOUSLY adorable there Laura :) (Have I pleased me case enough for you yet?)
I meant "Pleaded" :)
Yeah, you're off the hook. I was feeling pissy and unloved. Thanks for all of the sweetness!
